A stone's throw from Place Gambetta, this long-unoccupied studio suffered from its compartmentalized layout. Buoyed by the perspective offered by its large balcony overlooking Paris, and under the guidance of interior designer Romuald Lassagne, it has been transformed to liberate its volumes and assert an energy with seventies accents.
Once past the entrance, the eye is guided by a functional linear layout that conceals laundry and storage space. On the floor, checkerboard parquet, inspired by the existing floor, ensures the unity of the project.
At the end of this perspective, the kitchen stretches out lengthwise.
Optimized and generous with storage space, “this kitchen has all the makings of a great one,” says the architect!
Its pastel blue fronts interact with the pink granite countertop.
The mirrored credenza catches the light and enlarges the perception of space.
Leaning against the window, the custom-made bench creates a bright, comfortable dining area, open to the living room.
Bathed in natural light, the living room is in keeping with the project’s soft pop tones. The sofa backs onto a glass partition that marks the transition to the bedroom. A large curtain isolates the night space as required. Once open, the curtain allows the eye to wander freely, giving the living room its full depth.
Behind the partition, the bedroom asserts a more enveloping atmosphere.
The soft hues continue, punctuated by a pastel reminder that dresses the niche and structures the space.
Next to the bed, a desk fits perfectly between two large closets. Nestled in an alcove, it finds its natural place without constricting the volume.
In line with the bedroom, the shower room is discreetly revealed.
The granite of the countertop dialogues with the terrazzo on the floor, while the light wood of the cabinet adds a warm touch. The fluted washbasin, with its delicately retro lines, is an extension of the design.
