Léa and Judicaël are deeply attached to the Croix-Rousse district of Lyon. Their childhood laughter still echoes here, mingled with their memories as young adults, and then as a new couple.
The atmosphere is young, lively and just like them: it was an obvious choice for their first real estate purchase. On the day of the visit, the magic took hold even before the couple entered what was, at the time, a two-room apartment. And with good reason: the majestic building overlooks a lovely little square, almost completely pedestrianized and planted with trees, and all transit connections are close at hand... Perfect! Past the threshold of the third-floor apartment, what little doubts they had disappeared:
“The openness to this square, the fireplace with the large mirror, the brightness, but also the Haussmann style in need of a facelift. We loved it right away.” The couple wanted a resolutely quirky and inspiring interior, but, more pragmatically, they wanted a second bedroom. The story then unfolded around a mutual crush: a meeting with the interior design and decoration studio Craie Craie created a spark.
"We were already familiar with the work of Célia, the manager. For our first meeting, she'd asked us to make a Pinterest board with our inspirations: the day we saw each other, her project sketches matched our selection in every way... even before we'd shown it to her!"
The planets were aligned. Léa and Judicaël aren't afraid of bold colors, and Célia shares their enthusiasm, finding in this common thread a way to deal with structural constraints. The apartment is laid out in an L-shape around an interior courtyard, so it's a good idea to turn this imposed circulation into a journey full of colorful surprises. The vast living room allowed for the creation of a second bedroom, while the numerous nooks and crannies provided a pretext for custom-designed storage. The mix of styles completes the unique ambience of the space, much to the delight of the Craie Craie studio:
“Léa and Judicaël had a real appetite for adding vintage and antique pieces, another convergence of our desires... and that's why we got on so well!" It's been six months since the couple moved into their cozy new nest, accompanied by their dog Dumbledore, who enjoys this colorful apartment just as much as his owners!
In the heart of Lyon’s first arrondissement, the Place du Griffon can be admired from the apartment’s windows. It’s easy to see why Léa and Judicaël fell in love with this space!
