Interior designer Stéphanie Amÿot du Mesnil Gaillard's new project is nestled in a Haussmann building in Paris' 6th arrondissement. Formerly occupied by a family who owned the entire building, this cramped three-bedroom has been transformed into a bright two-bedroom. Its 45 square meters have been reorganized and redesigned down to the smallest detail, while retaining the charm of yesteryear. This is the perfect demonstration that tradition remains relevant when tailored to the needs of the times. The founder of Amÿot Interiors & Design, who worked here in collaboration with interior designer Ludovic Tarquis, gave us a tour.

The spacious, elegant entrance immediately sets the tone. A clever assembly of mirrors allows daylight to flood in softly, providing a truly cinematic framing of the living space. In the shower room opposite, the walls are clad in turquoise-blue tiles, in perfect harmony with the brass details of the shower. In this way, the choice of materials fully contributes to the new ambiance of the premises: chic and intimate at the same time. An important request from the owners: to find an elegant solution for a workspace in addition to a spare bedroom. The interior designers therefore decided to combine these two functions: tucked away in a corner of the living room, an alcove accommodates an office area, which also serves as an additional sleeping space thanks to a pull-out bed concealed in a custom-designed wooden wardrobe. At the edge of this office, two arches clad in electric blue create a visual separation from the living room. The same hue was chosen for the multi-functional bridge unit in the kitchen, which opens onto the large living area. It houses both the oven and numerous storage units. In the living room, a series of wall-mounted shelves completes this welcome optimization of space and showcases the beautiful objets d'art. Mouldings, herringbone parquet flooring, rounded windows in the bedroom... these meticulous details, preserved and enhanced, give this interior the look of a generous Parisian apartment. A compact living space with all the makings of a great home...
