Montmartre: an artist’s studio reinvented as a 40 m² contemporary showcase

The challenge: preserving the soul of a workshop while adding comfort and modernity. 40 m² Paris, France Industrial One-bedroom Studio Mathilde Cavé

Nestled just a stone's throw from the Montmartre cemetery, this 40-square-meter former artist's studio has been completely restored to its former glory thanks to a complete renovation. Interior designer Mathilde Cavé redesigned the space to create a bedroom and a living room, while preserving its original identity. Every detail has been designed to let in natural light and enhance the volumes, offering a veritable showcase in the heart of the capital.
From the moment you enter, the space is open and luminous, guiding your gaze towards the large openings in the living area.

The living room benefits from an unobstructed view of the cemetery and exceptional luminosity thanks to the glass roof.

The dialogue between antique elements and contemporary touches creates an elegant and inspiring atmosphere in this renovation that highlights the original volumes.

Functional and sober, the kitchen blends into the décor while creating a convivial corner, thanks in particular to the warmth of the wood used for the cupboards.

The clever use of a mirrored wall above the backsplash adds depth to the room and helps diffuse light.

The yellow-walled bedroom offers an intimate refuge bathed in light. The transparency of the fluted glass partitions allows the eye to wander, further enhancing the feeling of space.

A simple curtain is all it takes to make the room as intimate as you like.

The bathroom has a different ambience, seductive in its graphic spirit. A prairie-green floor contrasts with a shower area tiled with orange grout.

A pop, contrasting and vitaminized water feature!
