A 45-square-meter apartment in Paris's 17th arrondissement has been given a new lease on life after more than thirty years without renovation. Completely redesigned by the Maison Gabinel agency, it has been transformed into a functional yet cheerful pied-à-terre, evocative of a light-filled family retreat.
From the entrance, light guides the eye towards the living room. The project’s lines gently stretch out, carried by a bright palette and softened volumes.
The room comes into view through an archway. Light colors dominate, enhanced by terracotta accents that enliven the decor.
Custom-made furniture structures the space: the desk follows the curve of the alcove, echoing the entrance archway and the softness of the decor.
The dining area comes into its own within the living space. Backed by a built-in bench, the white table and light wood chairs interact in a sunny composition, reflecting the apartment’s character.
In its extension, the kitchen takes shape in a harmony of light tones.
The oak of the facades and the yellow of the striped backsplash complement each other with their patterns and lightness.
Opposite the kitchen, the living room is laid out around a custom-built bookcase that covers an entire wall.
Its niches alternate between full and empty, accommodating the television and the piano in the same geometric pattern.
The bathroom can be seen from the kitchen. Light floods into the apartment through the four arches in the partition wall.
Here too, curved lines interact with straight ones. The flooring extends up the wall, creating an enveloping atmosphere.
The travertine shades surrounding the bathtub create a soothing atmosphere. The orange-colored earthenware insert adds a mineral softness to the overall look.
