Asked to transform a former office space into an apartment for hotel rental, the Ameo Concept architectural firm opted for elegance and refinement to carry out this radical transformation project.
Right from the entrance, the bathroom sets the tone! Marbled natural stone and black paint give this space a very chic character!
The optimization of the layout has resulted in a more fluid flow of traffic, intuitively guided by the presence of curved shapes.
In contrast to the dark, opulent decor of the bathrooms, the main living area is uncluttered and bright to capture as much natural light as possible. Wood and fabrics in soft hues invite us to a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
Mouldings, herringbone parquet, joinery and custom tapestries create a functional, sophisticated setting where concave and convex shapes alternate.
Given the existing square floor plan and its constraints (a load-bearing axis in the center and windows on a single wall section), the traditional rectilinear partitioning was quickly discarded in favor of a curved configuration. This reorganization enabled the creation of the two bedrooms and two bathrooms requested by the customer.
Acting as a narrative, the curve motif is repeated throughout the apartment. The headboard is decorated with mirrors and painted patterns cut into half-arches. A small desk and a few shelves are integrated into an optimized dressing room.
Despite the apartment’s single orientation, each bedroom benefits from natural light. For Ameo Concept, indirect daylight was out of the question! The mirrors concealing the dressing room accentuate the room’s luminosity.
Custom-designed, the smoked glass table with its rounded corners is the centerpiece of the living room. All the circulation revolves around it.
Next to the entrance of the second bedroom, a wooden sideboard echoes with the kitchen units, arranged in an inverted L-shape. The varnished look of the immaculate kitchen counter brings more light into this part of the apartment, which is further away from the windows.
Ameo Concept takes care of small spaces as well as large ones! In this bathroom, marble and wood come together. In contrast to the large marble tiles on the floors and walls, the shower walls are covered with a pearl-grey earthenware mosaic.
The second bedroom gives us a real seventies look. An orange-tinted glass wall light cheerfully adorns the headboard.
Each of the two bedrooms has a desk area. Here, a wooden tray can be used as a writing table and drawer top. Carefully arranged on the room’s walls to create geometric patterns, thin wooden strips form a decor inspired by Mondrian’s paintings.
Beige and white wall paint and strategically placed mirrors let as much natural light as possible shine through a single window into this elongated room.
Like the first bathroom, the second features marble! A black towel rail highlights the dark hues of the wall covering.
