The entrance is via a kitchen in the hallway, leading to the only room in the house – a maid’s room, of course! A curtain separates the kitchenette from the living room, making it easy to move around.
The volume has been arranged using a custom-made plywood envelope that modulates the space according to need.
The small bench is located under the staircase. Underneath, sliding drawers provide storage space.
The staircase has been completely redesigned. It forms an open metal cage that makes the whole look very sophisticated, without losing any of its luminosity.
A simple mattress on the floor nestles in the attic, Japanese-style.
The traditional railing has been replaced by a wooden box. It acts as a bedside table and cupboard… no space is left unused!
View from the staircase. On the right, the bathroom door slides open without obstructing movement. Under the staircase, the first steps also become drawers.
Close-up of the apartment’s dominant colors. The deep blue floor matches with the curtain and bench seat. The black of the staircase perfects the elegant, sophisticated atmosphere of the studio, softened by the clarity of the wood and white walls.
