Wall light 25

A Sloft x Herah collaboration

When we talked to Herah about a joint object, we wanted to push the designer-manufacturer duo to the limit. We set them a challenge. To create a luminaire that would bring together the best of both their practices. And since these boys like nothing better than to roll up their sleeves, we're delighted to present Applique 25.

The name of this luminaire reflects its technical nature, bringing together for the first time Herah’s two exceptional skills: its mastery of cast concrete and its jewellery expertise in metal and stone. But when artisanal technique is pushed to such a degree of sophistication, it’s because there’s love. As much for the materials as for the gestures that shape them. The same love that Louis and Quentin have for the objects they meticulously bring to life in their Picardy workshop. And when there’s love for an object, poetry is not far away… like that emanating from this light, fragile sphere set on a solid concrete monolith in the shape of an inverted drop.

Applique 25 subtly balances opposing dimensions to create a refined interior object: the rough and the delicate, the immaculate white of concrete and the deep blue of lapis lazuli, the fluted edge and the smooth face, a construction technique and a jewellery signature. From the clash of opposites comes energy. A luminous piece of design that will add character to any room, solo, duo or more.

A detail: the light bulb used in Applique 25 can be dimmed to create a subdued, muffled ambience. Technique and poetry.

Louis and Quentin, the two founders of Herah.
