Warsaw: 22 m² ready to live in

The challenge: organizing an ultra-functional studio without ever saturating the space 22 m² Warsaw, Poland 30 000 € Retro-minimalism Studio Iza Koczanowska Studio

In Warsaw's MDM district, interior designer Iza Koczanowska has redesigned a 22-square-meter studio apartment. She has created a functional and deliberately lean interior, designed to accommodate different uses without restricting them.

As soon as you enter the studio, the tone is set. The large burl-veneered cupboard provides storage, while the restored original door preserves the history of the space.

The living room opens into a gentle continuity. The uncluttered floor plan lets in the light and extends the perspective.

The custom-designed grass-green table contrasts with the apartment’s muted palette, creating a real dining area.

Behind its sober cabinet fronts, the kitchen integrates all the essentials for daily use.

The ensemble combines warm materials with more technical lines.  The burl dialogues with brushed metal, capturing reflections and highlighting the precision of the craftsmanship.

A small round wall sconce punctuates the whole and brings a subtle, graphic retro touch.

In the living room, burl becomes support and decor. The TV cabinet stretches out, incorporating a few open niches and warming the room with its generous design.
Next to the bed, a curved wall niche creates a more intimate corner. The round hanging lamp, crumpled linens, and green side table create a cozy alcove that blends seamlessly with the living room.
The bathroom has the same soft, precise design. The small, high window has been restored to let in the light and maintain the connection with the rest of the studio.

Here, the lines complement each other! The washbasin countertop follows the curve of the credenza, whose mineral texture adds depth to the room.
