It’s hard to imagine that this space was formerly occupied by two maids’ quarters and a shared WC. By incorporating the former common-area hallway, this pleasant 2-room apartment brilliantly unifies the different areas. The only hint of a former separation is the brick-colored paint on the door opposite the entrance.
The simple yet effective fully-equipped kitchen has a warm, minimalist style, enhanced by a striking tiled floor.
Functioning as a combination dining table, countertop and china cabinet, a bespoke piece of wooden furniture divides the kitchen from the living room.
Closer to the floor, it is extended to offer even more functionality as both a storage unit and a TV stand.
Despite its north-facing exposure, the attice apartment enjoys plentiful natural light year-round and in every room, including the vestibule leading to the shower room and bedroom.
The secret? A skylight in the roof brings light into this corner of the apartment.
Echoing the square-shaped patch of sky seen from the vestibule, the shower room is adorned with luminous azure tiles.
The bedroom is painted in beige tones. It offers a generous sleeping area that’s equal parts peaceful and functional.
In addition to adding an unusual architectural detail, an alcove, complete with shelving, eliminates the need for bedside tables, freeing up enough space for a large walk-in wardrobe.
Additional storage was installed on one of the adjacent walls…
…just like the piece of furniture separating the kitchen from the living room, this custom cabinetry optimizes every corner of the room.
