At the beginning of the 20th century, the “Casa di ringhiera” were originally social housing, and they are all built around a central courtyard.
Today, they’re popular among people looking for a quiet, yet deeply communal enclave in the heart of the city.
As animals have always been part of this lifestyle, specific imagery pays tribute to them on the kitchen walls.
The dining area plays with the codes of a traditional family gathering, blending retro colors and materials.
It’s easy to imagine a Mamma buzzing around in the kitchen! The predominantly white color showcases illustrations on the wall tiles.
And when we turn around… the living room has a very contemporary feel! It’s as if one wanted to unite generations. Every item is meticulously selected.
Space is optimized nonetheless: modular shelving even allows for a very seductive office corner with its Diamant 420C chair designed by Harry Bertoia.
In the bedroom, the sparkling kaleidoscopic pattern of this rug gets everyone on board. Fixed to the wall, it acts as a headboard.
Who would have thought? It’s the shower room that’s going to put on a show! The starting point was a new, much more conceptual vision of the premises…
Aesthetically synthesizing the sounds, smells and colors of this community life, it is conceived as an ode to the work of Ellsworth Kelly, master of abstraction.
The small 10 x 10 tiles reproduce some of the artist’s works, creating a unique permanent exhibition.
Portrayals are excluded here, yet the eye easily grasps the idea of diversity, rhythm and joy. What a beautiful tribute!
