This large studio, located in Montrouge and completely renovated by Atelier Opale, exudes warmth and fluidity. Located on the ground floor and opening onto a terrace, the apartment has been redesigned to open up the kitchen onto the living room and reorganize the space, while retaining the studio feel that the owners love.
The monochrome palette in shades of beige and cream transforms the space into a bright and peaceful setting, showcasing the space’s beautiful volume.
A large opening in the wall connects the living room to the kitchen, creating a seamless dialogue between the two spaces. The continuous flooring enhances the effect of volume and perspective, while the carefully thought-out layout optimizes functionality, offering a practical and welcoming kitchen.
The wooden bench and cloth-covered table subtly echo the cream-colored curtains, reinforcing the immaculate and luminous character of the space while adding comfort and conviviality.
The kitchen has a simple, functional layout, where every detail contributes to the brightness of the space. The white ceramic tile backsplash reflects light, while the cream and beige countertops and cabinet doors create a soft harmony. The minimalist handles extend the clean, bright feel of the room.
The existing parquet flooring has been retained and painted in a deep beige, complementing the custom-made painted MDF bookcase. The living room also features a convertible sofa.
The closed storage units at the bottom of the bookcase provide privacy and functionality, while the upper shelves, which are all the same height, showcase books and objects, elegantly structuring the space.
The dark wood of the armchair and coffee table in the living room creates a subtle contrast with the studio’s overall palette and adds an exotic touch, creating a cozy retreat within this serene space.
To enhance the warmth and brightness of the large room, custom-made cream-colored sheer curtains were installed. Simple and economical, this addition immediately creates a cozy and calming atmosphere, while allowing occupants to adjust the natural light to suit their needs.
To remedy the apartment’s lack of closets, a series of built-in storage units made of painted MDF was created. The hallway has been fitted with plenty of these cabinets, making it a functional passageway.
The completely redesigned bathroom focuses on practicality without abandoning the soft color scheme that characterizes the apartment. A series of built-in storage units optimizes every corner and even conceals a laundry area. Beige and cream tones ensure a soothing continuity, while the handles, painted in the same shade as the doors, are almost entirely concealed. Gone are the strict lines: the space adopts a more enveloping geometry, enhanced by a ball-shaped wall light, a round mirror, and an oval basin.
But precision remains very much in evidence. In the shower, a rectangular niche aligns perfectly with the pattern of the deep beige tiles.
