Paris 11th arrondissement: A 50 m² Haussmann-style apartment in soft, muted tones

The challenge: preserving the Haussmann-style charm while enhancing natural light, open floor plans, and functionality 50 m² Paris, France 70 000 € Retro-contemporary 3 pièces Studio Castille

Located in a Haussmann-style building in the 11th arrondissement, this Parisian pied-à-terre has been redesigned to feel more open and airy without losing any of its charm. Moldings, antique hardwood floors, and soft, muted tones come together to create an interior designed to maximize light and functionality.
The large oak woodwork sets the tone as soon as you enter the space. It combines closed storage, an open bookshelf, and a discreet desk.

Beneath the moldings, its honey-colored oak echoes the warmth of the original hardwood floor.

Along this axis, the gaze then drifts toward the living area, drawn by the light from the living room.
Before leading into the living room, the hallway takes you to a bright bathroom.

The pattern of the beige ceramic tiles adds rhythm to the space. The wood of the vanity cabinet and the brass accents lend warmth to the overall look.

In the living area, the open-concept kitchen extends the apartment’s nude color palette. The oak cabinet fronts complement the white countertop, while the pink zellige tiles add a more contemporary touch.

The island defines the space and creates a cozy dining area punctuated by niches with soft lines that extend the custom design.

At the end of the kitchen island, the dining area is set back from the passageway.

The living room is bathed in the light of elegant white lamps.

The light continues to guide the eye toward the sleeping area, where the bathroom appears in the background.
In the bedroom, the atmosphere becomes more subdued and intimate.

The headboard creates a soft, inviting look. Its rounded arches complement the storage compartments built into the wall.

Adjacent to the bedroom, the bathroom opens discreetly behind a curtain. The hardwood floor gives way to a terrazzo floor with colorful flecks, which marks the entrance without creating a partition.

The shower fits into a narrow space bathed in natural light. The light-colored walls and brass fixtures reinforce the project’s elegant simplicity.
