The apartment features a spectacular entrance, through a huge tinted and textured steel and glass door. It was inspired by the sketches of Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
Surprisingly, it reveals an elevator as the only access to the apartment. It’s also an opportunity to admire the solid oak Versailles parquet flooring.
The building’s historic envelope blends with contemporary design elements.
The furniture in the minimalist kitchen is made of solid, hot-rolled stainless steel.
The floating TV stand and shelving unit is the result of a desire to integrate furniture as fully as possible into the design of the space.
The emphasis is on light, a nod to another master of contemporary architecture: Frank Lloyd Wright.
The patio doors give a sense of openness and connection with the environment that marked the American architect’s creations.
The bedroom is sleek, relaxing and functional, with full-height closets and built-in storage on either side of the bed.
Opposite the bed, new storage units adorned with walnut slats. This material adds a pleasant touch of warmth and character.
One of the doors actually conceals the passageway to a vast bathroom that extends the design of the cupboards, combining it with grey marble.
How can you resist the lovely prospect of sun-drenched ablutions?
