Making it up as we go in a 37 m² space in Paris

The challenge: creating a live-in studio for a makeup artist 37 m² Paris, France 60 500 € Trendy One-bedroom PS Studio

Located in the historic Saint-Louis Hospital district, this 35-square-meter 1930s apartment was redesigned by PS Studio for a professional makeup artist.
A mirror at the end of the entryway expands the space and alters perception, a bit like makeup enhancing the features of a face.

The concrete structure, facing south, provided the perfect base for transforming the space into a bright, comfortable modern environment.

Two-toned, evoking a subtle blend of vanilla and strawberry, the combination of pastel colors and bright hues is enhanced by a warm touch of chestnut.

The use of waxed concrete throughout the space blends harmoniously with the original reinforced concrete structure. Its color creates a neutral backdrop, enhanced by a few clever details, such as the recessed halogen lighting next to the sofa.

A key feature of the project is an open chestnut cabinet that separates the kitchen from the living room. A slatted blind can be used to separate it from the kitchen when necessary.

The piece also serves as a versatile desk, ideal for working on makeup … or admin. Hidden storage compartments under the lift-up top provide discreet storage for beauty products.

The south-facing apartment enjoys generous natural light thanks to its large glass facade. Vertical blinds gently filter the sun’s rays and help to create a haven of peace in the heart of Paris.

Beneath the windows, powder pink waxed concrete shelves extend the length of the wall. Their open geometric shapes structure the space while extending the physicality of the floor and walls.

Adjacent to the living room, the bedroom naturally extends the design of the low shelves, creating perfect consistency in terms of shapes and colors.

The room is deliberately minimalist to leave plenty of space for the makeup artist’s unique world.

Extending from the bedroom, the bathroom plays on perspectives: the mirror, placed opposite the door, enlarges the space and amplifies the feeling of depth.

Entirely covered in pink waxed concrete, the bathroom is highlighted by mosaic storage niches.

The spacious, functional shower has been cleverly placed behind the bedroom’s closet to optimize every square centimeter.
