Visitors are more than welcome in this charming 57 m² home. The sense of hospitality begins right at the entrance, with its warm parquet flooring and exposed beams. Originally comprising just one bedroom, it is now ready to welcome guests, with all the comfort and privacy they deserve.
There are no major changes in the dine-in kitchen, where the contrast between straight lines and curves has been taken full advantage of.
The fluid lines of the aqua-green table and chairs contrast with the harder-edged beams and worktop. Here begins a dialogue that continues in the second part of the apartment…
On this side, the living room has been slightly reduced to free up space for the new sleeping area. Curvatious furniture, built-in bookcases and “picnic” green accents were carefully chosen to give the room an aura that’s as functional as it is relaxing. The decorative mantel adds character to the ensemble.
Namely the kitchen, where the rounded shapes of the furniture also paly off the straight structural lines of the apartment. Here, a suspended light fixture and bookcase seem to be in the middle of a conversation.
On the opposite wall, two doors provide access to the primary bedroom and the new sleeping area. A glass door was chosen for the latter to let in as much light as possible from the living room.
Taking over the space of a former dressing room adjoining the master bedroom, the new sleeping area is optimized for guests. With a bed, bedside cabinet, shelf, mirror and overhanging cupboards (to maximise floor space,) this might as well be another primary bedroom.
Sienna cupboards, bold wallpaper, purple, ochre and midnight blue silk velvet cushions make this a veritable cocoon. Who says compact spaces can’t provide guests with a luxurious experience?
The primary bedroom was completely redesigned to create the new sleeping area. To compensate for the loss of surface area, built-in closets and a bespoke headboard were created, complete with bedside cupboards and storage in the middle.
From the wall to the bed linen, a pretty powder pink revitalizes the room.
