Originally leading to all the rooms in the apartment, the entrance hall is divided by a minimalist plywood bookcase set on a screed floor.
True centerpiece of the apartment, it branches movement to one or other of the main rooms, both of which have been redesigned to offer multiple uses.
Bathed in light, the living area now houses the kitchen, which has been relocated and installed along a wall whose structural concrete has been deliberately exposed.
As in the entrance hall, the roughness of concrete is combined with more natural wood elements: custom kitchen furniture, mosaic parquet, chairs, trestles…
In the center of the apartment, the partition created by the bookcase materializes a corridor that allows you to walk around the entire space without hindrance.
Acting not only as a pathway from the living room/kitchen to the bedroom, but also as a closet (cleverly installed on the back of the bookcase), and an access to the toilet and bathroom: this corridor has more than one string to its bow!
Unsurprisingly, the bedroom is also multimodal! A thick acoustic curtain isolates the room or opens it up to a workshop area, as desired.
With a view of the trees, the workshop area offers an ideal working environment.
The stoneware floor, inherited from the former kitchen, marks the distinction between the workshop and sleeping areas, even when the curtain is open.
What is the outcome? A room that can be adapted as you wish, with guaranteed freedom of movement!
Unique detail: a wooden trapdoor mounted on a piston system opens the view from the bathroom…
Now separate from the restroom, it has been renovated and rearranged to receive natural light from the corridor through polycarbonate transoms above the door.
