The tour starts in the sky! More than just a simple luxury, this view clearly conveys the idea behind this annex: an independent secondary housing (here in light gray) from the main house.
You’ll go back down to earth in this small private courtyard, separated from the main house for privacy.
The walls of the residence are made of structural insulated panels. The principle: an insulating material is sandwiched between two layers, in that case alternating between metal, fiber cement and latticework… hence the futuristic look of the whole!
Here we are in front of the entrance. It’s bathed in blazing sunshine, an important element of the site’s environmental philosophy. It is perfectly illustrated as soon as you walk inside…
This light is unbelievable! There are many reasons for the large number of windows: in spite of being overlooked, they bring in plenty of light, connect you to the forest and the sky, and heat your home!
The external insulation is complemented on the inside by OSB boards, which become fully-fledged decorative elements. The evidence being their perfect marriage with these Muuto pendant lights.
Let’s take a peek at the kitchen. It is an opportunity to admire the bushhammered concrete floor, which conceals a hydronic heating system with excellent energy efficiency.
A large dining area that remains minimalist, in the style of a guest house. The joists add character and visual texture.
Light also prevails in the immaculate and functional shower room.
As we’re heading for the staircase… Looking up, we can admire the geometric effect created by the overall structure and the interplay of elements.
The guardrail made from trellis panels keeps up this theme with its metal latticework. It’s a nod to the outside world.
The bedroom is a veritable ode to nature, with the original green resin floor echoing off the windows with their plunging views of the trees.
