This Victorian-style house in Melbourne’s Brunswick neighborhood had been home to an owner who loved its charm and warm atmosphere for nearly 10 years. But it lacked both natural light and a connection to the garden. Rather than opting for an open-plan layout, Placement Studio designed a thoughtful renovation that subtly blends the old and the new. By playing with volumes, levels, and finely integrated woodwork, the architects transformed the space into a series of cozy rooms without sacrificing the property’s historic character.
