Access to the living room has been redesigned to integrate an open kitchen. On the ceiling, a masonry form visually materializes this space and guides the eye towards the light.
The kitchen is full of storage space! Light-colored plywood panels made from birch wood were the chosen material. They capture a little more light from the balcony.
We love the green 5 x 5 cm tiles on the backsplash and kitchen counter! With their white joints matching the walls and sink, they offer a beautiful contrast and a cheerful graphic effect.
A modular joinery box was created in the living room. The aim: creating an additional bedroom while preserving the living space.
This module serves as a library and sofa area during the day. This is the perfect place for a good read or a long conversation, while remaining in direct contact with the rest of the apartment and the light.
The sofa can be cleverly transformed into a double bed in the evening. A drawer, seats that split into two: that’s all there is to it!
An opaque curtain, hidden in a slit, then provides the privacy needed for a good night’s sleep.
Open, this box also creates depth and gives relief to the living area.
A common thread running through the living room’s decor, warm colors are favored for the furniture and to highlight this alcove, dedicated to storage.
These tones are also found in the bayadère fabric inside the box. An opportunity to highlight the other reason for using plywood: bringing a contemporary touch to this historic stone building.
The tour ends with the bathroom, which has also been beautifully renovated. A nod to the kitchen, with a return to the principle of small squares… bathed in blue this time!
