Natural tones dominate the décor right from the entrance. The entrance unit combines storage, a bench seat and a foliage-themed screen separation. This made-to-measure filter allows light to pass through while delimiting the space without closing it off.
Marion Lanöe has completely redesigned and renovated this apartment, highlighting the potential provided by its high ceilings, wooden beams and parquet flooring.
From the kitchen, the presence of a glazed wall offers a welcome visual perspective towards the bedroom and its panoramic wallpaper. A chimney flue provides an opportunity to create a bespoke bookcase using suspended shelves, infused the entire apartment with an air of weightlessness.
The blue headboard and back wall of the bedroom contrast with the rest of the apartment’s pure white.
In this compact space, Marion Lanöe managed to integrate a wall-mounted drawer unit that doubles as a dressing table and small desk. An all-white dressing table also finds its place in a recess of the room.
The primary bedroom is illuminated by a large, custom-built glazed wall that separates it from the living room, transforming it into a sort of bright, soundproff glass cocoon.
The bright and inviting lounge area has an unobstructed view of Lyon. A low-hung custom cupboard connects the bookcase and TV area, which are located on either side of the old chimney flue.
At the center of the apartment is the open plan kitchen, with its two opposing rows of modules in natural tones of matte white and light wood. It is delineated from the living area by its tiled floor. A table for four extends from the countertop.
A closer look at the fish-scale tiled splashback, with rounded shapes that add a soft touch to the minimalist kitchen’s wooden countertop and pure white cupboard fronts.
Marion Lanöe uses both sides of the entrance cabinet. On the kitchen side, the cupboard hides the fridge-freezer alongside storage. The openwork wall provides a view of the entrance from the preparation area.
The transition between parquet and tiled floors is seamless. Herringbone parquet in the bedrooms and living room lends a warm character to these spaces.
Alternately used as an office and guest bedroom, this room has been optimized to include a sofa bed, desk and storage space. Herringbone parquet flooring and wooden beams lend a warm character to this particularly bright space.
Accessible from the entrance area, the WC is secluded from the rest of the apartment. In keeping with the functional nature of the room in which it is located, the patterned tiling in the entrance hall and kitchen continues through to the WC and adjoining shower room.
A large wooden cupboard conceals the washing machine, while providing ample storage space. The choice of a wall-mounted vanity helps to lighten the space.
One of the shower walls is covered in wood-patterned tiles, while the other walls are clad in matt white earthenware tiles. The whole is highlighted by black fittings.
