Located on garden level and facing one direction only, the loft has been refurbished and its spaces redesigned to take better advantage of itssingle source of light.
Entirely open-plan, the space retains its former loading dock characteristics, notably its concrete structure and high ceilings. The various spaces are skilfully market out, such as the office hidden by a low wavy waxed concrete wall.
To preserve the incredible height, no walls rise to the ceiling. The core of the project, the bedroom is conceived as a wooden platform, opening to the terrace but preserving its privacy with a long hanging curtain.
In this setting of light and neutral hues, touches of color energize the space through furniture and vintage pieces carefully selected by the owner.
A perfect example in the living room with the green velvet Togo sofa by designer Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset…
… but also in the dining room, with these Scandinavian wooden chairs interacting with the custom-designed banquette and its red seat.
The kitchen layout extends the spirit of the apartment. Again, no tall units, but shelves to air out the space and create a perspective that leads the eye outwards.
Meanwhile, the shower room has been designed to be more discreet, hidden behind the bedroom and kitchen. An opaque glass door lets in indirect light, without compromising the necessary privacy of this space.
Just like the bedroom, the shower room stands on a tiled platform and plays on openness, adding no partition between the shower and the rest of the room.
A second glass door opening onto the corridor brings in extra light, and extends the idea of flow and openness throughout the apartment.
