A 44 m² Haussmann modular apartment in Paris

The challenge: creating a parental suite and integrating a guest bedroom 44 m² Paris, France 80 000 € Retro-contemporary 2 pièces One-bedroom CHHO

Located on rue Saint-Dominique, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, this 44-square-meter Haussmann apartment was entirely redesigned by CHHO Studio for a couple wishing to be able to accommodate occasional guests, while preserving everyone's privacy.
Upon entering, the eye is drawn to the main living area. Walnut furnishings, touches of green and gold accents structure the apartment and create a warm, elegant atmosphere.

The living room and dining room are combined in a single space, divided into two areas by a double curtain that allows the space to be separated as needed.

The project enhances the existing heritage by preserving the moldings, cornices, original fireplace and restored parquet flooring. These elements harmonize with a contemporary design that is both understated and warm.

The living room features a gray sofa and armchair, complemented by a green-and-white checkered rug from Rugvista and a wooden stool designed by Batiik Studio for Monoprix

Lighting plays a significant role in creating the living room’s warm atmosphere. The alabaster wall sconces from NV Gallery, the Bubba ceiling light from Normann Copenhagen, and the floor lamp from AMPM play with light while highlighting the room’s dimensions

The double-curtain system allows the living room to be temporarily transformed into an independent sleeping area. A sleek and elegant solution that meets the need to accommodate two guests without permanently partitioning the space.

Moved into the living room to free up space for a parental suite, the kitchen was entirely custom-designed.

The kitchen combines walnut elements with deep green fronts, enhanced by HKliving Curvatures handles with gold finish.

The gilded aged mirror backsplash reflects natural light and adds depth to this compact kitchen integrated into the living space.

The dining room features a Westwing mango wood table illuminated by Flos’ Frisbi pendant light and surrounded by leather chairs from Meuble Concept. On the wall, two marble sconces (NV Gallery) add a touch of elegance.

In the bedroom, a wall combines open and closed storage, alternating white shelves and a walnut wardrobe. This ensemble structures the space while providing ample storage capacity in a simple and functional design. A Santa & Cole Disco light fixture on the ceiling punctuates the room with a soft and discreet glow.

The headboard combines walnut and cork in a warm play of textures. Frandsen’s Rotate sconces and HKliving’s Curvatures bedside tables complete this refined, minimalist composition.

The bathroom has taken the place of the former kitchen to create a true parental suite. The green and white checkerboard floor (from 41zero42’s Dandy collection) echoes the living room carpet, ensuring chromatic continuity throughout the apartment. The Carrara marble sink is framed by a mirrored wall, punctuated by two TMM sconces by Santa & Cole. All fittings are finished in gold.
