The entrance leads into a spacious dining room, which also serves as an office for the owner, a screenwriter.
Numerous storage units blend into the design, so that once guests are seated, the utilitarian function of the room is forgotten.
Every square centimeter is utilized, and even the smallest recess is an opportunity to display decorative objects.
Formerly opening directly onto the front door, the kitchen has been redesigned to be more clearly delineated. This compact room features a multiplicity of storage spaces from top to bottom, with a monochrome finish for visual purity.
Back in the entrance hall, an opening draws the eye into the light-filled living room.
The central box housing the kitchen is visible. Highlighted by a discreet gray, it takes care not to overshadow the exceptional architectural features of the premises.
Part of the living room ceiling was removed to increase height and let in zenithal light.
The simplicity of materials and colors is also designed to highlight another central feature of the apartment: its view of Montmartre’s Sacré-Coeur.
The new second level now houses a bedroom and shower room.
The decision to leave part of the attic unused by removing the beams completely opens up the perspectives and increases the sense of volume.
The spirit of openness extends to leaving the beams exposed between the shower room and the bedroom, for even more daylight.
With its immaculate white color and skylight, the bathroom exudes spaciousness.
The same can be said of the bedroom, which takes advantage of its sloping ceilings to discreetly incorporate ever more storage.
The height above the ridge was used to install an additional closet behind the bed…
…and the shower. A special mention goes to the imitation marble tiling, which underscores the elegance of this renovation.
