Located in the Abbesses district, this 34-square-meter apartment, still in its original state, has revealed its full potential under the guidance of architect Hélène Guillou.
To create a warm atmosphere and a strong visual identity, the architect opted for deep-toned woods that blend perfectly with the cocagne blue of the custom-made storage units in the entryway. A unique touch enhances the overall design: a mirrored pillar plays with the light.
In the dining area, optimization and functionality are the watchwords: the bespoke walnut bench incorporates storage space under the seat. To clearly define this space, a section of wall and part of the ceiling are clad in orange-brown.
In a chromatic echo of the entrance, the blue cushion on the bench was made by Atelier Vivien.
On the kitchen side, the furnishings are finished in cherry veneer, “a rarely used wood,” says Hélène Guillou, “particularly appreciated for its depth. “
The light hues of the backsplash and countertop counterbalance this with lightness and elegance.
Like a chiaroscuro effect, cocagne blue by Argile, also featured on the hallway walls, creates a striking contrast near the bedroom.
Bathed in light, the bedroom is finished in Sable and Calcaire by Argile. Designed for maximum functionality, a custom-built alcove with ample storage space sits above the bed, enhancing the cozy, cocoon-like atmosphere.
Compact yet ingenious, the bathroom features a walk-in shower and a vanity unit (with a built-in washing machine) within its 3 square meters. For a striking color contrast, red Winckelmans tiles are paired with Argile’s “Chaux de Marrakech” shade. Finally, a custom-made mirror, adorned with a wall sconce from SLV, completes the room.
The sleek design of the handles and the basin’s surface highlight the overall elegance of the project.
