In the heart of Paris’s 3rd arrondissement, interior designer Marie Bonnard has transformed a 22-square-meter apartment into a space optimized down to the millimeter, with an identity that is as bold as it is unique.
The entryway opens directly onto the living area, where the charm of the old meets more contemporary touches. Among these is the green leather Togo sofa, sourced by architect Marie Bonnard, which fits into a very sleek niche that also serves as a bookshelf in its upper section.
On the floor, authentic antique terracotta tiles—which were once covered by floating hardwood flooring—have been restored to bring back the space’s original character. Like all the other furniture, the glazed earthenware coffee table was found at a flea market.
In the dining room, Baumann’s Mouette chairs complement the space seamlessly, which almost evokes the atmosphere of a Parisian bistro.
Hanging above the table, the Planeta wall sconce by Chris Hiemstra for Lumiance combines contrast and elegance.
The kitchen features the same color scheme, combining touches of white and green with a checkered backsplash.
The centerpiece of the apartment, the deep green “box” sets the tone for the project, defines the floor plan, and separates the different functional areas without hindering movement.
Inside is the sleeping area, which features several built-in custom storage solutions.
Compact and functional, the bathroom also features a cream-and-green checkerboard pattern that extends from the floor to the shower base and continues to the sink.
A final retro touch adorns one of the walls: the Abstract wall sconce by Giotto Stoppino for RAAK, which blends perfectly with the spirit of the room and the project!
