Nestled in Saint-Malo’s iconic Grand Hôtel Franklin, the rental apartment has been renovated to recapture its old-fashioned charm, while adding modern comfort. In the vast living room, herringbone parquet flooring, moldings and cornices have been recreated by Orac Decor for a cheerfully colorful decor.
In the living room, iconic pieces such as the yellow USM sideboard and the leather Butterfly armchair sit alongside vintage furniture…
… like this wooden desk and its iconic chair by Kartell, with its minty green color that breathes lightness into the room.
The dining area features more neutral tones and noble materials. Like the marble top of the Knoll table combined with vintage chairs from Cartel de Belleville.
The glazed woodwork lets the light in and adds a real touch of character.
The kitchen, which is bathed in light, is all about getaways! Ananbô panoramic wallpaper transforms one wall into a tropical forest…
… while a former broom closet is transformed into a glazed dresser, entirely painted in dark green.
Just like the kitchen, the bathroom has been completely renovated to become a modern and functional space. Popham Design’s sky-blue cement tiles, covering the floor, walls and countertop, add their own lovely retro touch!
The master bedroom maintains the atmosphere. However, the moldings on the walls are painted blue to provide a bit of contrast.
The same goes for the large Scandinavian wooden wardrobe that was custom-designed for the sleeping area.
The secondary bedroom was designed in light and warm tones to compensate the fact that it is smaller and windowless. A glass door was created to bring in diffused light to illuminate the headboard, which was repainted in a soft, mineral beige.
Delicately suspended ceiling lights maintain the soft atmosphere ideal for this bedroom.
