We enter through the living room, which doubles as a lounge, dining room, library and reception area for the owner-architect’s guests.
The high ceilings made it possible to create full-height shelving on one wall. We love the idea of the old-fashioned bookshelf brought up to date with the blue metal ladder!
The ladder also serves as access to the mezzanine, a unique, made-to-measure room that structures the new layout of this duplex!
Under the mezzanine, a small corridor leads to the study. No space is wasted thanks to the installation of the kitchen and bathroom in this passageway!
This is the study from which the mezzanine is also visible, straddling the two living areas. The grey terrazzo floor subtly enlivens the room.
Close-up of the mezzanine from the living room. Its light, airy structure is counterbalanced by the bright blue that makes it the soul of the apartment.
The overhanging part of the living room serves as a landing to the bedroom, which is on the study side.
Always with the objective of optimizing space, closets have been created to act as a large dressing room, even in the bedroom.
The sleeping area houses the bed, which slides perfectly into the width of the room… hope you aren’t afraid of heights!
